The art of Dunhuang grottoes, represented by the Mogao Grottoes, has lasted for thousands of years. Its unique artistic form has inherited the style of the local Han Jin art tradition and the styles of the southern and Northern Dynasties and the Tang and Song Dynasties, and has constantly accepted and integrated the artistic styles of other places such as India. It has shown people the process of Sinicization of Buddhist art and the history of the exchange between Chinese art and Western art.

Its imaginative methods of exaggeration, distortion, and the use of colors are irreplaceable.

The figure paintings, landscape paintings, animal paintings, decorative patterns and paintings in Dunhuang Grottoes have thousands of years of history.

These patterns are rich in color and brilliant in color. They are epitome of the history of Chinese art in medieval times, and can be called a picture of decorative art.

According to the decorative position, function and significance of patterns in grottoes, Dunhuang patterns can be divided into 4 categories: architecture, clothing, Buddha implements, and general decoration.

Patterns include flowers, animals, clouds, flame, geometry, gold and so on. There are separate patterns in pattern, suitable for pattern, corner pattern, ribbon pattern, two party continuous and quadrangle pattern.

These colorful patterns are valuable materials for studying ancient Chinese art, and also provide rich resources for modern art.

Only a few of these rich pattern resources are revealed by historical documents. Most of them are still hidden in caverns.

"For the home textile industry, we can get creative inspiration from traditional Dunhuang patterns, especially its creative methods and color application. It is not only a creative example for the original design of home textiles, but also a source of the style of Chinese textile products with Chinese characteristics."

Yang Zhaohua, President of China Home Textile Association, actively advocated the integration of the cultural connotation of national and cultural home textiles into modern home textile design, forming a distinct personalized Chinese style.

"This year, we specially invited the Dunhuang pattern design into the home textile exhibition. It is to provide a home textile designer with an opportunity to feel the bright traditional culture of China at close range, inspire original inspiration in the perception, and create a new home textile product which is more suitable for modern people's aesthetic sense."

It is understood that at present, a group of home textile enterprises such as Hangzhou Lida and Nantong blue silk feather have been developing the products with Dunhuang decorative patterns in various ways.

The fine Dunhuang pattern will undoubtedly provide more creative resources for these home textile enterprises at the sixteenth China International Textile and Accessories Expo.

According to Yang Xiuqing, Secretary General of the Dunhuang grotto protection research foundation of China, Dunhuang art is invited to attend the exhibition, which is to show the beautiful and colorful Dunhuang Grottoes to all walks of life to make more people understand the art of Dunhuang, and to explore the possibility of learning, inheriting and developing the domain of household textiles, combining the research with the industrialization of Dunhuang pattern art, serving the modern and beautiful life, and looking forward to more people concerned about the protection and research work of the Dunhuang grottoes.

Because the Dunhuang grottoes are immovable cultural relics, this exhibition mainly introduces the various decorative patterns in Dunhuang Grottoes in the form of inkjet pictures and forum lectures.
