With the adjustment of the duty-free reduction mechanism and the request for approval, the clothes and clothing industry in Nepal began to resume operation in 2010.

The GSP (GSP) has added 11 additional export products, including Nepali shawls. The Nepali clothing association (GAN) has applied to the US trade representative to import 11 different types of export products into the GSP this year.

The Nepali clothing association also applied for derogation from the EU's GSP system on the clothing originating from Nepal, and adjusted the tax exemption and loss reduction mechanism.

Pandey, the first vice president of Nepal clothing association, said: "the United States will adjust the GSP in December, and such an adjustment will take place every 10 years.

We take this opportunity to propose to the US trade representative the inclusion of 11 Nepalese export products in the GSP. "

Similarly, the Nepali clothing association also proposed to the European Union to extend the EU's derogation mechanism to Nepal for two years, and Nepal began to enjoy the benefits of this mechanism since 2004.

The Nepali clothing association has submitted such an application with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and materials.
