Cotton Hoarding Up

Affected by the price of cotton market, many cotton farmers in the region appear to be waiting for a price to wait and see, and the accumulation of the picked cotton directly affects the acquisition progress of new cotton in the region.

Compared with the bustling scene in previous years, cotton farmers who were preparing to sell cotton at the cotton purchase points decreased significantly this year. Only a few cotton growers came to sell cotton after driving the tractors.

In the home of Li Changming, a cotton farmer in kkukla village, calata Town, Akesu, the reporter saw one of the houses stacked with cotton. He told reporters that although cotton prices are already high, they want to wait and see whether they will continue to rise.

Cotton farmers with the same idea as Li Changming are not in the minority. Because of the high expectations of cotton prices, many cotton growers have hoarded the harvested cotton and do not sell them. At the same time, some cotton enterprises in the region are also waiting to see and wait.

From regional statistics, since September 20th, the acquisition of new cotton has started to scale. As of now, the total cotton purchase has been 112 thousand tons (lint), less than half of the same period last year.
